Recent fun things I got to do

Brian singing at American Songbook

Since the new year started, I’ve gotten a chance to participate in a number of wonderful projects that I don’t want to go by without mentioning. Here they are:

The American Songbook Series at Lincoln Center

I was asked to sing for The American Songbook Series: The music of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. I was able to revisit that great score from Next to Normal and sing a brand new song of theirs called “Hey Kid.” But perhaps most fun of all was performing the …

“Bird in a Box” is a touching short film about a guy who falls in love with the voice of his Satellite Navigation System. Visit the film’s website, where you can watch the film (8 min.) and find out about the cast, filmmakers and various screenings: http://www.birdinabox.tv

Here’s a portion of an interview with …

Christmas with Ed Burns

FITZGERALDPoster

I have a small part in Ed Burns’ new film project “The Fitzgerald Family Christmas,” available via on demand services starting on Nov. 21— and due in theaters on Dec. 7. Here’s a recent Huffington Post article about the movie and cast, which includes Mike McGlone and Connie Britton. Burns calls the film his “most personal work,” and being Irish American myself, I can vouch that the laughs and tears hit home. View the trailer.
